Matthew 7:1 – the Bittersweet Truth.  Stop judging so that no one will judge you too. ~Brittany Bragg

Matthew 7:1 – 5

“Stop judging that you may not be judged; 2  for with the judgment you are judging, you will be judged, and with the measure that you are measuring out, they will measure out to you. 3  Why, then, do you look at the straw in your brother’s eye but do not notice the rafter in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Allow me to remove the straw from your eye,’ when look! a rafter is in your own eye? 5  Hypocrite! First remove the rafter from your own eye, and then you will see clearly how to remove the straw from your brother’s eye.

Stop condemning: Or “Stop judging.” Jesus knew the imperfect traits of human which made them judgmental.

Jesus die for our sin.

Father’s Commentary:

Matthew 7:1 Stop Judging.

Matthew 7:1 says that God wants everyone to understand the message and consequences of their actions. This verse helps us to understand that we have no right to judge others harshly. Using the Pharisees as an example of those who judged people, Jesus warned us not to emulate them, but rather to focus on the positive side of people we meet.

Focus on the positive side of people we meet.

Instead of finding fault in people, the verse admonishes us to “keep on forgiving” the shortcomings of our fellow men. When we do so it would also have a positive effect on others. We should not be like the fake prophets and pastors of those days who only sought for the errors of others and imposed their unscriptural traditions on them.

The Bittersweet Truth

One thing that is worthy of note, is the person who judges should remember he is aware of the consequences of sin, so if found wanting, his punishment would be worse. Verse 3 explains, we should not be looking for a minor flaw in others when we ourselves have our own problems.

Do not judge others.

Nobody made us judge over our brothers, nor are we perfect or qualified to take the lead in pointing out the errors of others. Fixing our attention on other people’s faults will lead to us ignoring our own issues. Remembering that we are all imperfect, and struggling with sin will help us to focus on our main goal – gaining salvation and storing up treasures in heaven.

Brittany’s modern Christian art helps clarify this bible verses. The bible verse art gives the viewer a closer look at Jesus Christ’s explanation about us not judging. Verse 1 has an art reminiscent of a gavel, and this signifies judging and why we should avoid it.

The bible verse art gives the viewer a closer look at Jesus Christ’s explanation.

Jesus was the perfect human being. He loved His enemies and took on their sins. He didn’t just sit back and pointed out their errors, but rather he helped them find a way to fix it. The Scripture art teaches us to be kind, loving, and compassionate as the “one who saves”.

 4th Art Piece

Bitter-sweet”

By Brittany Bragg

* Matthew 7 talks about do not

judge. So i put a gavel. The ruler is

for what measure you use it will be

measured back to you.

  • Matthew 7:3 talks about do not look at the speck in your brothers eye but do not consider the plank in your own eye.or big hunk of wood in your own eye.

  • Matthew 7:7 talks about ask and you shall receive, seek and you will find, and knock and it will be opened for you.

  • Matthew 7:13-14 talks about the broad and narrow path. The name of this piece is “Bitter-sweet” I chose this because when we do what we want for example, get drunk, practice sorcery, have outbursts of anger and have hatred, and commit adultery at first it is off the charts fun. Then it is alright, then it is ok, then it goes south and becomes unbearable and then finally gnashing of teeth and death. Now for the narrow way.

  • There will be a way that is hard, and sometimes painful physically and mentally. The mountain of Per-ace = “Perfect Grace” There in our mist will Jesus be there holding us and protecting us. All we need to do is let Him. With our cooperation->
