Then God went on to make the expanse and divided the waters beneath the expanse from the waters above the expanse. And it was so.

Father’s Commentary: In the beginning, was GOD.
Genesis 1:7 the Beginning: at the beginning of time, God was there to set the clock going: As an infinite being, He is not limited by time. Before the beginning, He was inhabiting eternity.
Genesis Chapter 1 is evidence of God creating life as we know it. He is the originator and creator of the universe. Genesis 1 reveals a series of patterns and revelations and why we should render worship to our maker.
Genesis 1:7 shows God’s fulfillment of his words of creation. In the Bible, God’s words and actions are inseparable. As seen in Genesis 1:7 God made the expanse(firmament) by mere words and speaking it into life, producing it out of the chaos.
This led to the vast division between the heaven of heavens and our earth. He created the sky or heaven and placed them between the seas below and some layer of “waters” above. This follows God’s pattern of creation as described in Genesis. He commands, He creates, He names and declares “good” his creation.
God made the firmament or expanse in a way that it answered his purpose of dividing the waters below it from those above it. It has not failed him it has continued to be firm, stable and durable as God wants it to be.

“ The Beginning
* GOD is first
– made the heavens
– made the earth
– made day & night
– made firmament
– made grass & seed
– made the sun & moon & stars
– all sea creatures and birds of the air
– made cattle & all creepy things
– made man and women
– Then GOD rested
I really did not know how to draw God resting so I drew a comfy recliner couch and the name God here 🙂 So to me that made a whole lot of sense. I also drew spiders for the creepy things because I am very frightened by them. I am not God and that is totally fine with me lol. God must have made spiders for a reason and whatever the reason I… well have to be okay with that. Maybe if the spiders could talk I would like them more. That way I could say Please go away out of my sight.
