Father’s Comments

Thinking about this verse, it makes us pause and reflect. These words seem to sum up a whole life in a sentence.

The word “I have fought a good fight” talks about all the tough times and the challenges we faced. It’s not about beating others but dealing with our own struggles such as doubts, fears, and tough choices. Those inner battles, you see them now as the marks of your journey in life.

“You’ve finished the race.” Life is a bit like running a long race. Imagine it as a marathon, where you don’t know what’s around the next turn. Sometimes, there are tricky parts that catch you by surprise. The finish line isn’t exactly where you might think it is.

It’s not a race where you dash to the end in a flash. It’s more like a slow and steady journey. Picture it as taking your time rather than sprinting through it. The key is to stick with it, even when things get really tough. Imagine walking through a tricky path, you might stumble, but you keep going.

So, in this marathon of life, the important thing is not to give up. Keep going, even if the road is bumpy. Because every step you take, they’re the parts of your journey that have brought you to where you are right now.

“You’ve kept the faith.” In the middle of life’s ups and downs, there has been something constant. And this is your faith. This faith isn’t just about religious beliefs, it’s a trust in something bigger than yourself. Think of it like a compass. When everything around you is confusing, and you’re not sure which way to go, your faith points you in the right direction.

Even when you’re not sure what’s coming next or when things seem all mixed up, your faith is that inner guide saying, “Hang in there, stay true to what matters.” It’s a steady force that keeps you grounded when everything else feels shaky.

So, in the midst of life’s twists and turns, your faith has been your rock, your guiding light. It’s not just a belief, it’s a strong and dependable support that helps you get through tough times and stay true to what you believe is right.

2nd Timothy 4:7 says I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

I drew sunflowers because they are my favorite flowers! This verse talks about how God will help us in all our battles. Next, how God will help us to finish the race of life, that He will give us strength and endurance to finish His work in us. Furthermore, God will help us keep the Faith in Him and in His Holy Word.
